Read history from Kevin Kelly
Loved reading this from the great Kevin Kelly. He’s so right. If we read and understand history, it’s crystal clear that as bad as things may seem, we’re still far better off than we’ve ever been.
Focus on the facts.
Book:
The Ten Equations that Rule the World by David Sumpter
Is there a formula for getting rich? For going viral? For deciding how long to stick with your current job or even relationship?
Sumpter writes that there are 10 equations that control everything.
The book covers:
This is view of the world through the eyes of a mathematician, and it’s made me think differently about why things work the way they do, and who is actually calling the shots.
You can check it out here: The Ten Equations that Rule the World
Lecture:
Token Design: Mental Models, Capabilities, and Emerging Design Spaces by Eddy Lazzarin
Tokens are this very cool mechanism in web3, but too often they become the goal when they should just be a tool.
This talk by a16zcrypto’s Head of Engineering proposes a new framework for token design and covers common patterns and pitfalls, current token capabilities, and the many design spaces left to explore.
How would the system work without a token? If you just remove the token altogether what fails? If the system fails completely, like it disappears without the token, you're probably over-emphasizing the role of the token.
