Roblox is going to let creators that make assets and tools keep nearly all of their sales
Roblox is going to let creators that sell assets and tools for other creators on its marketplace keep all of the revenue from their sales minus taxes and payment processing fees, the company announced at its Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) 2023 on Friday. The change goes into effect starting sometime next year.
This will be a big change — though it will only apply to sales on the Creator Marketplace, which is for creators to sell to creators, and not to sales on the Marketplace (formerly Avatar Shop) where people can sell avatar-related goods.
Right now, creators who sell things on the Creator Marketplace get a 70 percent cut, and they only thing they can current sell on that marketplace are plugins. But starting next year, developers will be able to sell 3D models as well, meaning that there’s a near future where developers will sell 3D assets to other creators and pocket most of what they earn. An Electric-Car Uprising Headed for the US
If you want to know how quickly electric vehicles might spread across the US, just look at California. In the past five years, EVs have gone from 2% of new-car sales in the state to 22%.
The pace of adoption in California picked up significantly once EVs reached 5% of new-car sales, a threshold at which preferences start to flip for mainstream car buyers, according to a Bloomberg Green analysis of EV adoption curves around the world. California was one of the first major car markets to reach that tipping point, in 2018. LINK
Is anything ever really free? FreeWater is challenging our economic model
What is your attention worth?
FreeWater is begging us to rethink our current economic model by passing out completely free water bottles that leverage advertising on their packaging to cover the cost.
This concept challenges the conventional notion of monetizing resources and advocates for a paradigm shift toward accessible goods. FreeWater is looking to expand into other products and even to become “the Whole Foods of free product.”
What if we could move away from scarcity-centered economics toward a more inclusive, socially beneficial framework, with water distribution serving as an initial steppingstone?
A PODCAST: Dr. Matthew Walker: The Science & Practice of Perfecting Your Sleep | Huberman Lab Podcast #31
The biology of sleep, including its various stages and what specifically happens to those stages when we don't get enough sleep. We also discuss the effects of sunlight, caffeine, alcohol, naps, hormones, exercise, marijuana, sexual activity, and various supplements on sleep. The episode consists of both basic science information and many science-supported actionable tools.
The symmetry of the Universe | Matt Henderson
8 Earth years are roughly equal to 13 Venus years, meaning the two planets approximately trace out this pattern with 5-fold symmetry as they orbit the Sun.

A Mindfulness Exercise
Five Senses Exercise
Of the many quick and easy mindfulness exercises to consider, the five senses practice is one of the quickest. It is something we can do at any moment as it is simply an invitation to consider:
What can I see right now?
What can I smell?
What can I hear?
What can I touch or feel?
What can I taste?
If you are practicing this with another person or within a group, invite each participant to write down their answers to each of these questions. Note that you can write down multiple observations for each sense.
Then, share openly. It is interesting to note how many different things can be observed by different people in the same setting.
Thanks for sharing FreeWater, a great idea for the future!
